Chris, Try setting the idle with the jumper from gnd to ten. Maybe just needs base idle adjustment? See if when you turn the idle air screw the ecu tries to compensate and bring the speed back to target. If not, I'd be looking at the IAC or possibly the idle switch in the tps.

IF thats the case and the problem, then i would wonder if I could install a small nipple in the intake after the tb and install an air solenoid that comes on with the a/c clutch. car has 202k and runs like NEW. love a miata!
