That is the VIN. NB says it is a 99-05 engine. Y says it is a 2000. The rest has no meaning to the engine specifications (google Miata VIN decoder)
Sent this request the other day and it seems to have kicked me off the e-mail list but trying again. Can anyone on the list decipher a Mazda engine number on a core that I bought to rebuild? Don’t want to spend a lot of bucks on the wrong hunk of iron! Number on plate attached to the sump: JM1NB3537YO (NOT SURE IF LETTER O OR NUMBER 0) 141793 Want to build it for a 99 Miata, hoping it is compatible 1.8 engine. Thanks in advance, Bill Z
