Does anyone know where the airbag computer on a 1996 Miata is located?

The solid light is likely a fault with the air bag computer. The lack of a
resistor (or air bag) would give the blink code or buzzer.
My 96 has also had its airbag light solidly illuminated for the past couple
months and I have a stock steering wheel.

You need to bridge the airbag wires in the hub with 3.3ohms. From
radio shack, buy a package of 10ohm resistors (~$1) and wire 3 of them
in parallel. Then connect them across the blue terminals in the hub.
