My 2001 has 110 K on the clock, so I need to get after a timing belt,
water pump and such.
Since I had the wisdom of selecting the Hard Dog Deuce rollbar when I
got my car 9 years ago, I was immediately banned from SCCA
autocrossing, and have not and don't foresee any on-track driving. I
get all I can out of my car on the street and want it to last me until
I'm very old. (Quiet Wally!!! … I'll strangle you with my medicare
paperwork!!)
My car is equipped with the FM frame rails and LS' OEM cross bracing
rather than the FM iron butterfly. The engine is stock.
I'm wondering about motor mounts. I've been part of several
conversations recently that touched on new / performance motor mounts
that has me thinking. I'll likely get a OEM fuel filter too — is there
a superior alternative?
Any suggestions of other logical refreshing while making these
maintenance repairs?
What motor mounts would you recommend for a car that gets plenty of
spirited street driving, but no track time?
I've not been involved in a Miata timing belt change. Is there a gasket
set involved in addition to the crank seal and cam seals? My current
grocery list includes:
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Tensioner, Idler & Spring
Crank Seal
2 Cam Seals
? - 2 Engine Mounts
I'm also considering a FM chassis upgrade with some of those tasty
V-Maxx coilovers. My question for this expert panel is about the sway
bars. FM sells a package that includes new bars, but I remember from
when I was just getting amped about my car and reading everything I
could find that most recommendations were for front bars only. What do
you guys think would be my wise choice. Keep in mind that my car has
the LS package but not the sport package.

Thanks, I thought this group was too quiet and I know I can benefit
from your wisdom and experience.
