They also cause extra gearbox chatter (and wear?).  If you use a Link-style 
knock sensor the chatter can show up as much higher background noise, the level 
depending on where the sensor is mounted.

If I were going to buy a lightweight flywheel, I would consult with FM, 
Goodwin, or another expert Miata shop for advice instead of buying blindly from 
Amazon. FM flywheels are essentially the same price.

Also, 8-10 lbs is very light and can cause drivabilty issues. I guess it 
depends on what you expect from it.
