There's wall to wall coverage and sycophancy over here in the UK...right up to the "pop has died" comments (this despite the fact he had released nothing new since 2001 and with most his decent stuff over 18 years old). I feel for his kids as strnge a life as they must have. Makes me feel better about what passes as a normal life.
In response to your question I don't think BW would get anything near the coverage as MJ or Lennon for that matter, irrespective of the view that the Uk warmed to the BBs more than in the USA.
