My real name is Phil, I live in the UK, I don't need to nor am I
afraid to hide behind a pseudonym unlike bb54 and Lakepipe, who both
should be ashamed at what they've written about Sue and Stu. The world
of the Beach Boys has certainly attracted some undesirables per se,
but what I didn't know was that quite a few of them had congregated
here and hidden away in their own little club, baiting and back
stabbing in such an immature way as to somewhat disgust me. The doors
is open as you say Mr Eidem, I'm man enough to take you on with a few
little home truths.

My take on Sue & Stu is completely at opposites to most of you here
and I'll go into that a little later. I wasn't at the Gateshead Sage
concert but I do know that someone started a "happy birthday to Sue"
thread over on the Blueboard, which was probably how the band and
Brian found out it was her birthday. Do you actually think she wanted,
or even knew, that they were going to to do a dedication to her? Come
on get real here, wake up and smell the roses and get in the real
world. There are some really loud smacks of jealousy on this board and
not only because the band did a dedication to Sue Levinson.

I first met Sue and Stu on Brian's first comeback tour to the UK. I
saw them at the Travel Inn, close to the RFH, that most fans were
staying in. Also there at that time were Bluebird, Andrew Doe, Phil
Cormier, Peter Reum, Val from BBB and many others, but too many to
list here. I didn't know Sue or Stu before that weekend but I had
obviously heard of Sue because of all her posts on the Blueboard. They
came across as nice warm friendly people who were as excited as I was
at the prospect of seeing Brian Wilson perform live in concert. I had
seen the Beach Boys live on a few occasions in the UK but this was my
first with Brian, and I suspect I wasn't on my own judging by the
excitement in the bar and lobby of the travel inn the day before the
concert. I hoped that I would get a chance to meet Brian just to get
him to sign some memorabilia I was carrying around, that I could keep
as a reminder, but that wasn't going to happen on this time around. I
did get to meet Brian at a later concert and guess who was responsible
for making that dream come true for me? It wasn't BBB, who although I
was a member at the time, seemed to have their own little circle of
favourites, it was Sue Levinson who made it possible for me and for
many other, just ordinary fans. How did she do it? I don't know, I
don't care and I didn't ask questions. I had been a fan of the Beach
Boys since 1966 and this young lady had made it possible for me to see
the great Brian Wilson. How could I possibly join in with back
stabbing, hiding behind keyboards, rhetoric that some of you seem to
enjoy here? Your attacks on Sue &Stu (and Bluebird for that matter)
are akin to a warped sense of perspective on life and I prefer to
judge people how I find them and not to be influenced by what somebody
writes on a little used message board in cyberspace. You know what? If
I was to make a list of the people I mentioned here Sue & Stu would
top it for the kindness and friendship they've shown to me and to
others. It has been a few years since I last met them but I won't
forget that kindness and I most certainly wouldn't be prepared to stab
them in the back here.
