Not the worst BW gig I've ever been to (Hampton Court 2005 will take some beating - a train wreck in slo-mo), but neither was it in the top 10, or even top 20. It was... enjoyable without being anything more. Yes, the sound was an issue (I'm told it was no better if you were standing by the mixing desk) and yes, there were times when Brian zoned out, just as there were times when he handed in excellent vocal performances (at a pre-show meet, he was in pretty good mood, smiling & responding). I don't possess a pair of rose-tinted specs, so I can't say what some people want to hear. It was a nice BW show - that's all.
On a purely personal note, the kinds words and hugs from various friends and band members were deeply appreciated. Not quite so appreciated was a burst of alcohol-fuelled invective aimed at me during the post-gig bash, oddly enough from someone who'd earlier in the day offered some of the kind words mentioned above. Ah well. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Diamond Headz" group.
