The CDs (with artwork and liner notes) are going for $13.99 at Walmart
and the local drug store. The 14 CDs would cost $195.00 plus tax if
bought individually. The USB stick converts to $330.00 plus tax.
Clearly, Apple is banking on that people won't sit down and do the
math, and just shell out the money.

My question is: why listen to the remasters on your computer when the
real nuances in the remasters will be mostly noticed on a nice stereo
system? If Apple really wanted to cash in (like it seems they want
to), why don't they just let the music be downloaded on iTunes? It
appears that they want to exhaust every other avenue first before they
make the songs downloadable. Crazy.

For what it's worth, I still haven't bought any of the remasters.
I've actually decided to start listening to my 1982 Mobile Fidelity
Sound Labs Original Master Recordings box set albums. I've had them
for years and never listened to them...until now. They sound
magnificent!
