Never been to a Beach Boys concert, and that is my regret. I really
wanted to see the Beach Boys/Chicago concert in 1975, but was really
young then and didn't have the money. But life doesn't give you do-
overs. Cindy H.

Just got the urge to hear that song a couple of days ago and looked it
up on You Tube. I was really surprised that it was you, Brian! Great
Song! Cindy H.

To Brian

I'll try to be brief, but it's going to be difficult. Last January, I
was watching music videos on You Tube. I started out watching "Wishing
You Were Here", by Chicago and the Beach Boys. From the first time I
ever heard that song, I was totally mesmerized by the BB vocals and on
that January day, I must have watched that video 20 times. Having the
thirst for more, I went on to watch BB videos, which I have never seen
before. I started out with my all-time fave, "I Can Hear Music". At
that time, I didn't know that the singer was Carl, but I got a very
"deja-vuish feeling, like I knew him or something. Of course, I
didn't. After watching BB videos for a couple of hours, I went on to
the internet to find out what became of the
Beach Boys and learned that Carl had passed away in 1998. I could not
believe it and as I'm sitting there reading about him, the tears were
just streaming down my face. I felt that I had known him all my life
and like he had just passed away yesterday. I don't know why, but I
could not get him out of my mind. About 2 weeks later, all of these
thoughts started taking form and rhyming, so I started writing them
down. Within a few hours, I had written a poem about him, which I
titled "The Beaches Beyond". As I was reading back over it, I thought
it would make a great song. Back in June, I sent it to you at the
CWF's PO Box. I don't know if you ever got it, but I wish I knew so I
could stop wondering about it. I'll be happy to resend it if you send
me secure address or e-mail. I could send the PDF file of it. I
thought of you as the one to send it to, because you write such
beautiful music and I wanted it to go to someone who would take a
personal interest in it. " The Beaches Beyond" is a fan's tribute to
Carl Dean Wilson, who was a very talented musician and a wonderful,
fine man, who is still very admired and missed in the music world.

Brian, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating
the Beach Boys and for sharing your beautiful music with the world.
I'm so happy to see that you are still going strong after all these
years.
