Roy story as told by Burt Sugarman. Roy is listed to appear on the Midnight Special and is waiting in the green room to go on.
Burt pays him a visit, they get to talking and Burt mentions that, in conversation with Elvis once, E mentioned that Roy was his favorite singer and that he loved his voice. Roy says the equivalent of "aw shucks, no way..." Burt swears that it's true and Roy is floored and unable to perform for approx 30 minutes until he collects himself... Just thought that was a real humble response from a great talent.
