g.g. allin was an interesting guy. he challenged everything. popular for 
being unpopular. to say the least. he was the perfect 1980s, nyc, 
punk-rock, performance-freakout provocateur. some people thought he was a 
monster. he was a performer. a VERY confrontational one. in the east 
village in the '80s we were all very aware of, and freaked-out by him. i 
never had a conversation with him. he was just mayhem. his life and art 
were the same and unfortunately it was all VERY ugly.
