My earliest experiences with psychedelic music was 11th grade, when WZAK-AM
(the nationalitiies station - Polish, Slovak) hired a nighttime deejay,
called Doc Nemo, spinning "underground" music.....regional stuff (the theme
song was Heavy Music by Bob Seger), different stuff (Spirit was a fave),
and even James Brown (because white kids didn't get to hear it). So the
following song (which I meant to post last weekend because a group member's
birthday was the week previous) is dedicated to the late Minnie Ripperton,
and here's the Rotary Connection singing "Turn Me On". (Note the first 0:38
is a song called Rapid Transit....only here because the only version of
Turn Me On by itself was really cheesy quality.)

So I'd fall asleep listening to cool stuff, and be awoken by a Frankie
Yankovic polka record....
