It's Psaturday! Today's track is by the Cyrcle, no doubt the only band from
the American Midwest (they met in college at Easton PA) to be managed by
Brian Epstein. They charted in 1966 with *Red Rubber Ball* (#2), and *Turn
Down Day *(#16), and at their peak, opened shows for The Beatles.
Unfortunately, subsequent singles charted no higher than #59*.*Today's psong,
* *"The Words" was the B-side to *Penny Arcade* (#95), released in
September of 1967. The band broke up before the end of that year. Here's

Weird Trivia Dept:
Group member Tom Dawes (bass) went on to write the "Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz"
jingle for Alka Seltzer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5G4USWB79c (link
provided for anyone that doesn't remember the commercial).
Post Script:
I just checked local chart action on Penny Arcade (because #95 seemed
surprising) and sure enough, it went to #19 in Cleveland. Don't listen to
it tho', it might end up as tomorrow's psyngle...
