Robbins’ version will become a hit on the Country chart. 1956 – Tommy Steele makes his concert debut at Finsbury Park Astoria in London. Reviews proclaim him "Britain's answer to Elvis." 1961 – Johnny Cash and June Carter appear on stage together for the first time at the Big D Jamboree in Dallas, Texas. 1963 – The Beatles give an afternoon concert at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, which is filmed for BBC-TV. He’s released on bail the next day. 1998 – Cuban jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval becomes a U.S. citizen after a six-year battle with the Immigration and Naturalization Service. 1999 – The Recording Industry Association of America sues Napster for $100,000 for each song downloaded from their site. 2005 – The MBE medal that John Lennon returned to the Queen in November 1969 is found in a royal vault at St James' Palace along the note Lennon wrote explaining the reason for its return. 2007 – Ray Charles Plaza opens in Albany, Georgia, with a revolving, lighted bronze sculpture of Charles seated at a piano. 2007 – Singer Rosanne Cash returns home to recuperate from brain surgery, performed at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital on November 27. 2009 – Bette Midler and Lady Gaga perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Performance.
