2000 – Former Village Voice writer Jimmy McDonough sues Neil Young for
$1.8 million in civil court for backing out of his agreement to

2003 – Barry White suffers a stroke, which paralyzes the right side of
his body, while being treated for kidney failure. He will live for two
more months.
2005 – Coldplay becomes the first British band since The Beatles to
have a record debut in the U.S. Top 10, when their single "Speed Of
Sound" enters the chart at # 8. In 1968, The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” was
the first and only other British single to do so.
2011 – Victor Willis, the “policeman” for The Village People, sues
Can’t Stop Productions and his former bandmates for $1.5 million in
back royalties.
