2006 – Cliff Richard loses his battle to extend the number of years that 
musicians can receive royalties for their records when an independent 
review board rules the terms will not change. Richard wanted copyrights to

2007 – Singer Pat Boone undergoes partial knee replacement surgery at Rush 
University Medical Center in Chicago.

2008 – Bono signs partnership deal with the Starbucks coffee company to 
donate a percentage of U2’s sales to help fight the spread of AIDS in 
Africa. The deal will run till January 2, 2009.
