My friend Gordon Neish met the great man in a London pub, here's his
account of that meeting!

A LESSON LEARNED
A play in one short scene

Setting: Pub in Soho, 1988.

Characters: G. Neish, P. O'Toole, barman.

Neish (gushing): Mr O'Toole - I've always admired your work. Tell me,
please, how does one become a gentleman?

O'Toole: Fuck off....

(Neish, hurt, retires to corner.)

(Exit O'Toole)

Barman (bearing whisky): This is from Mr O'Toole.

(CURTAIN)
