Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in decades. Remake a foreign film (Magnificent Seven = Seven Samurai). Remake a B-movie 4 or 5 times (Invasion of the Body Snatchers). Remake a classic (A Star is Born). Remake a fucking lame ass TV show (Car 54, Where Are You), or an SNL bit (The Coneheads). Or a remake casting a black man as an 1800's secret service agent (Will Smith/Wild, Wild West), so you have to suspend your belief in reality to even buy the concept.
