I'm not sure if we're talking about the same device here. This is what mine
looks like:

except that the cable coming out of it has the aaui connector rather than
what appears to be a serial cable. It plugs right into the ethernet port on
the 6100, and apparently draws power from there--there is no other power
connector on it--only the cable with the aaui connector, and the 2 RJ-45
jacks. Is this what you're talking about here?
