Too many questions with too few answers. Eventually people with far more intelligence and training than most of us will address those questions in due course. Until then, we may safely assume U.S. manned spaceflight is essentially over. It is most certain the 3 crew in the ISS will have to be retrieved via the Russian Soyuz platform but we will likely not send anyone else up to the ISS. The ISS may even be mothballed until the shuttle program is dissected for answers. We also know the next U.S. manned platform to replace the current shuttles is 10 years from coming online.
