Hi All,

A client wants to communicate through a firewall to my MICO server.

In order not to open all ports, but a range of ports, I want to
restrict
the choice of port numbers in the server to a particular range.

Is this possible?

yes, it is possible. Basically you do have two ways:

<commercial>
1. you can purchase our ObjectWall which is nice IIOP-based firewall based
   on MICO core. We've developed it exactly for scenarios like yours. If
   you are interested to know more, please let me know off-list and I will
   send you ObjectWall feature list.
</commercial>

2. the second way is that you can attempt to write something like we did
   for ObjectWall. Be warned that you need to be high-hearted and that you
   will also learn quite a lot from not so used CORBA API.

Odd thing to talk about "ports" in conjunction with CORBA :-).

Ports are just ports! The funny thing starts when you start talking about multi-home firewalls, callbacks and reverse processing. :-)

Cheers,
Karel
