I have a Hue HD webcam. I have been trying to get it to work under Ubuntu 8.10 with very limited results. Actually its pretty much unusable.
You can see what it looks like on MPlayer here http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/1528/mplayerno7.jpg And on Ekiga here http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/8784/ekigazf4.jpg I installed it using the instructions here http://groups.google.com/group/microdia/web/testing-microdia-driver-draft Running the command LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:fps=30:device=/dev/video1 -vo x11 I get this output -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:fps=30:device=/dev/video1 -vo x11 MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.3.2 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (Family: 6, Model: 15, Stepping: 11) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled with runtime CPU detection. mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory Failed to open LIRC support.
