fatal: destination directory 'microdia' already exists.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong; I'm using linux kernel 2.6.27-9
and ubuntu 8.10.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but can you help?

Firstly:
remove the microdia directory and the kernel headers. Then reinstall both and try "make" again.
