i suppose the question is whether the screenshots count as
their own format for publishing logs onto the web, different from the
iChat text logging format. it's a combination of different presentation
(the graphic text balloons) with more information (the user icons)

it's probably useful to consider the screenshot format in the light of
what it suggests about how people want to present these things. the
chatzilla internal format (warning: not actually in the wild?) has a fairly
elaborate set of attributes aimed at making the format highly stylable.
