Perhaps not a microformat, in the sense used here, but I feel that there
should be some way (or is there already?) for marking up an ISBN number,
so that it is recognisable as such.
Consider:
0 9507881-2-0
0950788120
0-95078812-0
0950 788120
If any one of those were marked up, something like:
<span class="ISBN">0 9507881-2-0<\span>
or even:
<isbn>0 9507881-2-0</isbn>
then user agents could be written in such a way that the spaces and
hyphens were ignored. It would also enable user agents to ignore, say:
<p>Please order part number 0 9507881-2-0.</p>
Is it acceptable to use 'OpenURL COinS' in this way:
<span class="Z3988"
title="ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&rft.isbn=0950788120">0
9507881-2-0</span>
Thoughts?
