I believe Ryan meant you were sending from a different address than
the one you signed up with, so the list didn't recognise you. When you
reply your email client will likely choose to send the reply using the
same account the original message came in on -- which will be the same
address as the one you signed up with.

Assuming you have more than one address that is!

problem down, though.

One potential problem is that you've used the wrong email address to
send to the group. The group was set to simply discard such messages
(which doesn't seem very useful now). I've switch the list to reject
such messages now, so we can at least see if that's part of the problem.
