Hello Steve, Microformats are basically just semantic HTML with specification.
So,... anyone can make their own semantic HTML. (Like picking an using class names like these. No need for XMDP or anything else.) Microformats try to "standardize" what's already out there. So that everyone uses a common set of class names. I'm already using the class-thumbnail and class-video thing. So if you and others start doing that too, then one day a Microformat can be based on what we've done. See ya On 8/16/06, Steve Williams <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Nice and simple. Would it be considered bad form to recommend that to sites in isolation, without referring to a Microformats proposal or specification, much less an XMDP link in the head element? I don't want to do something that might influence a bunch of sites if it would hurt the Microformats effort. _______________________________________________ microformats-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://microformats.org/mailman/listinfo/microformats-discuss
