"fn" seems to basically be the class name to be used where people
think of "title". I regret that we didn't use it in hAtom for
"entry-title" (but I'm not losing sleep over it) -- you can read the
reasoning here [1].

--- part of this goes back to no-namespacing in Microformats. TITLE is
already used in hCard, which has a different semantic meaning. Plus,
hReview (and others) use FN as the TITLE equivalent. So if you are
reviewing a book, you can have the same element with class="fn" be the
ITEM title and the CITATION title at the same time. This also sort of
hints at the old idea (which i think was dropped) of using
"book-title", "journal-title", etc. (a la hAtom's entry-title) The
downside of that is that it would be an enumerated list of types and
therefore never be complete. At the moment i'm happy with just using
FN.
