Mike, I agree with you on this one. I believe imposing complexity could well discourage adoption. Having deep pool of attributes available *should one need them* is not necessarily a bad thing, but requiring complex markup *as a minimum*, is what might put people off. However, this point become less of an issue if the markup is automatically generated by a CMS or whatever. BTW, what is the official name for a microformat attribute? Is it attribute, value, class-name, or what?
