Hope that helps to clarify. I can certainly submit a proposal for
the route format - which would probably be best served by an ordered
list containing separate geo elements:

Longitude: <abbr class="longitude" title="43.00000">43.0000</abbr>

best if you read the process on the wiki first.
And as geo is just used for encapsulating Lat/Lon values in hCards, I
don't think reusing is a good idea. It will change according to the
vCard
standard.
