Is anyone there going to mention applications that may need to combine vCard
with iCal ?
...such as those which need some way to specify a location for an event with
more detail than just a freeform text field -
or even just specify a city or country for an event in a way that can be
used by machines.
(or is there already a standard way to do this?)
I know this can be done with hCal/hCard but I have not yet seen a desktop
calender app where this kind of combination of data can be created or edited
easily by non-technical users and part of the problem might be because
generally such desktop apps use only vCard OR iCal (but don't provide a way
to use both in combination!)
