The current "straw man" for the Species microformat:
<http://microformats.org/wiki/species-brainstorming#Straw_man_proposal>
has been deployed, in part, on Wikipedia.
*All* Wikipedia articles with "taxoboxes" (information panels on living
things; and there are thousands):
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Taxobox>
now emit a species microformat. For example:
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Tamandua> (a species)
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anteater> (a family of species)
These are recognised (with some issues, being worked on) by the
"Species" user script for Operator 0.7 (and the beta version of the next
release, 0.8a)
It now remains to firm-up the specification, and tweak the Wikipedia
deployment accordingly.
Such discussion should take place on "microformats-new", to which I've
cross-posted and set follow-ups.
