The fisher & Pykel Gentle Annie washing machine has a fixed magnet 12v motor that has
both low speed and high speed wirings. The low speed mode is best suited for this
purpose. F&P is sold in Australia and I imagine it will be easy to get the motor from
a service centre. In fact I think it is made by General Electric.

It is a 3phase motor and I have used a standard automotive rectifier with it. I think
the one I have is a 70amp nissan rectifier

This configuration is quite p[opular here with boaties and my brother in law has one
on a windmill. it makes a good battery charger.

An alternative is the smart drive motor and another member of the group may be able to
help with this

Regards

Howdy all,

I am looking for a suitable DC dynamo or permanent magnet motor to produce an output
of 1-2 amps at 12volts. I could live with higher up to 24v and 2 amps but am just
after something small. Most applications I can find are either too large or too small.
Considering that I am in Australia I was wondering if anyone would know where to
source a suitable generator?
