This posting remined me of a mailing I recently received for a major
annual conference held for the electric power utility industry
POWER-GEN. I have not attended this conference before, but this one
looks interesting as it is sub-titled "Renewable Energy - Moving into
the MAINSTREAM".

The conference is to be held March 1-3, 2005 in Las Vegas Nevada.

The call for papers abstract deadline is Aug 2, 2004.

The suggested topics list is: wind, solar, biomass/biofuel, hydro,
geothermal, ocean/tidal, waste to energy, energy storage, hydrogen and
fuel cells.

They are asking for both the usually type of presentation (oral with
powerpoint slides etc) and panel discussions. Presenters are given
complimentary conference registration.

Is there any interst in putting together a panel discussion (up to 5
panelists) on micro-hydro?

> Panel submissions must contain content for a complete 90 minute
panel discussion, including confirmed panelists.

conference attendees to interact with the panelists.

documentation of their participation.

I'm open to suggestions, but was thinking of something along the lines
of "Full Utilization of Micro-Hydro Potential: Obstacles and
Opportunities".

Enviromental & Recreational activism
Regulatory (Government & Industry)
Economics (Dispersed Resources - Unique Sites/Custom Designs)
Education
Technical (control, storage, & maintenance )
Integration w/ Wind, PV, tidal, hydrogen

I'm just throwing this idea out to see what the group can do with it.
