Hello, I am working to cost out putting in a second microhydro system on a creek on my property in the Colorado Rockies. I already have a small system with spring water, 210psi dynamic, direct AC, [EMAIL PROTECTED] which has a Canyon Pelton with T&H load controller. Works great but for recent (3rd year now) drought induced low winter flows that leave me in a lurch for adequate winter power. Winter power can drop below 6 -8amps and thats tough as the smallest obstruction to the jet can kill the system. Besides that, I've got the hydrohead urge for more power and expanded uses. The second system would go on a creek which would provide 1 to 6+ CFS flow with head of 230-250ft over a pipe length not to exceed 2,000ft. I've got a conditional water right and a clear right of way for the pipe. What I need most now is a very accurate picture of flows through the coldest dryest winter months. I don't really know what the low end of the flow is in Winter, though the raging Spring flows are well in excess of 6 CFS. My plan was to size a system 1 to 4 CFS if I can get the minimum in Winter. So this post is to see if anyone has a weir table for .25 to 3 CFS. I plan to construct a weir which will give me accurate readings through the winter months, so I can assure myself the cost of the new system will be worth it for heating needs and other uses for the power. I found a good site for the weir today, but haven't been able to find the right table that reads in CFS. The page at : http://home.carolina.rr.com/microhydro/flow.html has a great instruction but the Weir table 1 won't seem to load. That unfortuantely is the one I need the most. Anyone have a copy of that or link to an equally accruate table? Thanks in advance. I'm an avowed "Hydrohead" Stephen Ramsey [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------ Yahoo!
