We have studied 25 community owned Micro Hydro Power sites in the North West Province of Cameroon. These sites range from 10KW to 100KW with falls from 4 to 50 meters and flows from 100 to 1,200 litres per second. The village communities accept to contribute sweat equity in all civil works and to pay for electrical consumption at the rate of US$0.10 ( about 50 F CFA) per KW-h for three to five years after which each village will take over its project entirely.
