Hello

We have an application we are looking at that involves a micro hydro
generator (output can be set at 12 48V DC, 1000W ), a solar panel
array (3 x 80 W, 12V DC), 2 x 225AHr 12V batteries and a hut that is
currently reticulated at 12V DC for Lighting. We have also fitted Plug
sockets for 230V ac.

The system is currently running with the Solar Panels, a Solar (20Amp)
controller, the batteries and the DC lights. The ac sockets are wired
to
a separate switchboard that is not currently being used (No ac
supply).

My question is:

Is there a regulator/invertor/charger or a combination of these that
will allow us to rationalise what we have.We would like to:

1Use the output of the micro hydro and solar panels to charge the
batteries (constant Voltage type charging)

2Have an output of either;

a.12V DC for lighting and 230V ac for Plug Sockets or

b.230V ac for both Lighting and Plug Sockets (we would need to change
lamps etc)

Is there a facility amongst this to allow for either dumping excess
hydro output (which at this stage will only be run for 2 hrs/day)
into a
water heater element or controlled in some way to prevent overspeeding
as the load lessens? Or to allow connection of an additional load as
the
charging lessens and there is no ac load??
