Thanks, Oso. Much thought for further study. 

I just bought a soaker pipe. According to the
manufacturer, just a small drip of water will allow
the pipe to work along its entire length. Based on
that claim, I propose to attach a large water tank and
turn the tap on just a little. The tank being placed
at a higher elevation, I'm hoping the water will be
spread evenly over the garden. What do you or anyone
else think?
