Hello Everybody I am working in the area of small hydro power plant.I have a doubt.Can anyone help me ? What are the advantages / disadvantages of placing a Gate/ Valve at the top of penstock (i.e. before the penstock and after forebay tank) as compared to placing the Gate / Valve after the penstock (i.e. at the bottom of penstock and before the turbine) for load frequency flow control ?
