Curtis: 60 gallon/minute= 1 gallon/sec= 3.78 liter/second
3 feet head *0.3048= 0.914 meter head Power available = 3.78 * 0.914 * 6 = 20.7 watts or 0.497 KW-Hour per day. Expect around 15 watts or about 0.360 KW-Hour. The 9 cubic yards is 6.88 cubic meters and if used all at one time and assuming 3,.78 l/s the reservoir will give 6880 l/ 3.78 l/sec = 1820 second or about 1/2 hour at 20.7 watts of energy -- It is best to use the 60 gallon/ minute and forget the 9 cubic yards reservoir for the now. You need more head and for every 3 feet of head you get the 20.7 watts additional , no calculations made to take care of the water friction losses. This looks like my first hydro that produced around 20 watts -- several decades ago, enough for night lighting Regards Nando ----- Original Message ----- From: "standingbearfarm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2005 1:32 PM Subject: [microhydro] Small Pond/Dam Potential/Evaluation > I would like the boards help to determine the potential for > producing power from my small stream. > > 1.
