hi all,

I have been doing some reading and for low head designs have seen that
the banki and kaplan turbines are used. My guess is that the banki is
perhaps less effecient but cheaper to make.

Are there any small kaplan turbines on the market, say 1kW. In off the
shelf systems have seen many, many moderate head pelton turbines but
never a kaplan setup. I assume this is because low head high flow
streams are less common than moderate head low flow streams.

No urgency, just some background reading for me.

N. Peter Evans
