Dear hydro folks,
A friend of mine is looking for a used synchronous generator, 30-50 kVA, 4 poles, 400 V, 50 Hz, IP 23 or above. The generator has to be in good shape, preferably with a separate excitation winding (for an external controlled rectifier), available at the connection box. A simple & standard machine, classic construction, would be optimal. The thing will be used locally in a trial test hydro assembly. Everybody seems to have synchronous machines coming our of scrapped Diesel gen-sets, but those can hardly be used due to specific construction (1 bearing only at the non-drive end) and various electronic gadgets incorporated for excitation. Due to lower transport costs, offers from within Europe and ex-Soviet space would be perhaps more feasible (we live in Romania). Can someone be of some assistance here ?
