Hello everyone,

I am new to this so please forgive me if I ask redundant or stupid questions.

I have the basic 12 volt photovoltaic system pretty much understood and working
well but now I want to add micro-hydro to the equation. My 12 volt system is
completely mobile and to expand the system to plug into a fixed micro-hydro
station is my next goal. I have decided for now the size of a micro-hydro
system will start out small and grow over time. I choose to use a separate
battery bank located near the stream where I will place a micro-hydro turbine
to keep the wire loss low. I will invert the 12 or 24 volt power and use
conventional 110-20 volt power to my RV from a traditional power post next to
the RV.

How can I combine the 2 systems to produce more power than one alone? My system
could use 220 volts tool run a deep freshwater well and fill large holding
tanks for later use. Is there a way to combine them to produce 220 volts when I
need it? How would I go about just using both power systems at the same time at
the standard US 110-20 volts?

Obviously, I am not an electrician but am to learn able quickly if I am pointed
in the right direction.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

wojack
