Dear Girish Ji,
Thank you for your kind information. I'd like to scrutinize the issue little
bit more in detail. The interconnection as you mentioned is for 100 kW scheme.
Furthermore, it is interconnected to the national grid. My concern is regarding
community managed micro hydro schemes of 10-20 kW range, situated far from
national grid. My further inquiries are:

1) What about technical and financial aspects of synchronizing two or more
schemes (10-20 kW range) with each other.

2) In community managed micro hydro schemes financial obligation plays
most important role. Is there any possibility of reducing additional cost of
equipment (Anti-islanding protection equipment, fault protection equipment,
lighting protection equipment, transformer and equipment for safety measures
etc) primarily required for synchronization system?

I look forward to getting the epitome of such application.

Regards,

Manoj

You might be interested to know that the 100 kW plant in Tehrathum is
synchronised to the grid.

    Dear All,

In Nepal, we can get many appropriate sites to develop micro hydro schemes
(10-20 kW range) along the same river within small distance apart each other
(Say within 1 km range). It is imperative that we synchronize such micro hydro
schemes with each other for optimal power utilization. But, In context of
Nepal, we have to consider both technical and financial viability of the
system. I'd like to know that whether such system is possible (both technically
and financially) or not in case of micro hydro schemes.
