I can make my comments about this discussion. We was using at MTF some
chinesse generators with brushes in our smaller MHP kits, say 5 - 10 kW,
because stock availability in Chile and low price; but you are right that
AVR's (if we can talk of real AVR's indeed) are bad. We save the original
AVR problem putting new special ones onto chinesse PEM machines, designed
and constructed by Ing. Alfredo Cox, here in Concepcion. For great power,
more than 10 kW we are using very best Marelli-Motori and Stamford brushless
alternators, with very good AVR's.
