Hi all,
There's a 40 kW micro hydro to build, with probably a generous budget, in
Papua New Guinea (see below). I've had a little to do with the funding of it,
and have some specifications (head, flow, etc). May be of interest to some of
you, and we may be able to be a useful partner in the region - anyone who is
interested in overseeing construction, I would be interested in collaborating
with as a designer, part-time project manager (I'm currently between Fiji and
PNG, so can't do full time site management, only spot checks). There's not many
efficient, decent quality installers in PNG, so it may be cost-effective to
consider this job despite the travel. Very suited to experienced micro hydro
installers with low labour costs but good English language skills (eg. India,
Sri Lanka, Nepal, etc). We can provide links to local contractors for civil
works. Am trying to get the tender documents electronically if possible....
