*Norm Cheng, UC Berkeley, UCCSC 2015 Ambassador* *Registration is Now Open for UCCSC!* UC Riverside <http://uccsc.ucr.edu/> will host the 2015 University of California Computing Services Conference (UCCSC) at the Highlander University Building (HUB) on August 16 - 18, 2015. The conference is open to IT professionals of all levels. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with your fellow UC IT colleagues! This year's theme is entitled "*In a Cloud of Our Own*” and represents 33 years since the first conference at UC Santa Cruz in 1982. *Session Proposals Due on June 19* This announcement is also a reminder for submitting your Session Proposals. The UC Riverside (UCR) UCCSC conference committee invites sessions to highlight successful IT-related initiatives across campuses, as well as collaborations within campuses at departmental, collegiate, and administrative levels. These presentations can fall and span into several tracks which include Web applications, research & data technologies, repository services, IT service management, instructional design, cloud computing and other innovative efforts. Session duration can last between 20–50 minutes. You will need to create an account on the UCCSC conference <https://uccsc.ucr.edu/proposal-submissions/>website <https://uccsc.ucr.edu/proposal-submissions/> in order to submit your proposals. Note: this link is for proposal submissions only and *does not *register you for the conference. Your submission should include a topic and short paragraph of what will be presented which can be entered on the website or uploaded via PDF. The deadline to submit your proposals is June 19 and all entrants will be notified in July. The *primary presenter* of an accepted session will have her/his registration fee waived/refunded. *Registration, Accommodations & Transportation Information* *Registration Prices* · June 2: Register today <https://uccsc.ucr.edu/register/>! The registration fee is $250 per attendee and will be open thru July 6. · July 7-31: Late registration fee is $300 per attendee. *Accommodations & Transportation* The UCR UCCSC team has also posted on the website, available rooms at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa, Downtown Marriott and Hyatt Place. All hotels can be booked with a special UCR rate code and are located in downtown Riverside, within walking distance from each other. Shuttles will be provided to and from the UCR campus at these hotels. *Background* This annual conference began as a grassroots effort by UC campuses to share knowledge and information. Open to IT professionals throughout the UC campuses, colleagues have met each summer since 1982 to discuss common topics such as providing and supporting information technology services at the University of California. In addition to learning from the subject matter experts in the seminars, attendees will have opportunities to network with their peers from other campuses, to enrich their knowledge of IT operations, to learn about new technologies within the UC system. Traditionally, a different UC campus rotates hosting the UCCSC each summer. UCCSC is the venue at which winners of each year's Larry L.
