Job Title:  SAP's BW Solution Architect

Location:         Plainsboro, NJ

Duration;          6 months

 Resource w/SAP BI Skills will help lead Info Center expansion into TechOps
business area.

 The selected candidate is required to work in an adhoc reporting
environment, where initiative, drive and the desire to excel are essential.
The candidate must be capable of working under tight time lines and with
minimal supervision, either alone or in a team environment.
Solid communication skills are essential.
Knowledge of Supply Chain business process is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Access,etc.) is
required.
SAS, Oracle, and Business Objects experience is a plus.

The BW Solution Architect primarily supports the architecture, design,
analysis and development efforts of the data warehouse (backend) portion of
SAP's Business Information Warehouse (BW), and may play a role as a BW
report developer. Depending on the size, complexity, or specific needs of a
project, roles could consist of some or all of the following: requirements
gathering, analysis, design and/or design reviews, configuration,
development, testing, implementation, documentation and consulting support
to others.

The difference between the Senior BW Consultant position and this BW
Solution Architect position is that the latter includes the ability to work
with very minimal direction from a manager, and to play a major role as an
architect / designer, and in many cases, a developer on BW projects. This
consultant is considered an expert and will provide the highest possible
level of BW technical and functional expertise. Deep SAP functional
experience (specified in the “additional information” section below), and at
least 6 years of broad and deep BW technical, architectural, and design
experience is required for this position.

Position Requirements:
• Minimum of BS degree in Information Systems or a closely-related field
• Complete understanding of the architecture of BW and data modeling
• Minimum of 6 years of broad and deep BW technical, architectural, and
design experience, including experience in all phases of BW development
projects, including BW 3.5 experience
• Minimum 10 years business application development experience, preferably
in a data warehouse or SAP environment
• Pharmaceutical experience preferred
• Deep SAP functional experience (specified in the “additional information”
section below)
• Complete knowledge of BW transports and hands-on diagnosis experience of
transport issues/problems
- Design and development experience with non-SAP data
• Good understanding of BW report design and development
• Good understanding of the SAP Basis environment from a BW application
perspective
• In depth knowledge of project management principles and full life cycle
development
• Demonstrated leadership skills and team player strengths
• Excellent problem-solving / debugging skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Commitment to high quality work
• Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation
• SAP R/3 experience a plus
• SEM experience a plus
• Crystal Enterprise 10 experience a plus
• Must be able to work in a matrix-managed environment, and on multiple
projects/tasks

The following is an example of Additional information which MAY be requested
when this position is requested: Has a good understanding of the Supply
Chain business process and specializing in developing BW Supply Chain KPI’s.
Good understanding of the industry’s best practices in the area. Be well
versed in Supply Chain measurements such as Inventory Management, Cycle
Time, Customer Service, Forecast Accuracy and Schedule Attainment.

Responsibilities (some or all):

• Architect BW solutions for projects of all sizes with minimal direction
• Be able to lead BW analysis and design efforts, including creation of all
or major portions of a design document
• All technical and business analysis aspects of BW data warehouse project
development, creation of test plans and scenarios, testing, and
implementation; including significant hands-on work
• Depending on department and project needs, support functional and
technical design efforts, including data flow diagrams and multi-dimensional
data models
• Review design documents to identify improvement opportunities
• Could be called upon to perform report development, depending on project
needs
• Diagnose and recommend query and data loading performance improvements
• Stay abreast of SAP's BW and related products' direction
• Communicate to SAP via OSS for problem solving
• Provide production support, when necessary
