*# of Openings:* 1 *Start Date:* ASAP *Duration:* 2-3+ months (newable after 7/1/2009) *Location:* Harrisburg, PA *Rate:* $35.00 per hour System Administrator is responsible for server back up and security, along with performance tuning and capacity planning. SAs should possess an understanding of network and distributed computing concepts. Complete Description: Job responsibilities – Provide daily support, project support and architecture review for Revenue’s AIX server infrastructure. Work with existing AIX administrators to develop policies and procedures for change management in support of the AIX environment. Assist with the daily support of Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). Participate in architecting and implementing the upgrade of the TSM software and the proposed TSM server hardware upgrade project. Provide knowledge transfer to existing AIX administrators and other in house staff. Business case/Justification – AIX skills are limited in availability and rather highly specialized. Revenue has very limited number of in house personnel with these skills. Of those that have AIX skills their time is not wholly dedicated to AIX support. With the Department’s continued foray into computer systems that run in AIX environments additional resources are needed to assist with architecting and supporting the recent surge in AIX systems deployed throughout Revenue. Short timeframes and no training do not allow for immediate development of other in house staff to provide these services and skill sets to the Department.
